Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital Polytechnic: Education without Boundaries for Future-Ready Skills


AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital (TAG.GD), officially launched the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global Digital Polytechnic (TAG.GDP), today, August 19, 2026. The virtual launch ceremony was attended by a host of academics, intellectuals, media professionals, and technology experts across the Arab region and worldwide.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that the TAG-Polytechnic represents a "global project" in the field of education, inspired by his firm belief that education is a fundamental human right that should not be restricted by geography or nationality. He emphasized that the project was launched in the digital sphere to be accessible to every individual worldwide.

He further affirmed that the TAG-Polytechnic reflects his deep-rooted belief in the necessity of fundamentally transforming and making radical changes to the current education system, especially in the Global South, to ensure that future generations are capable of contributing to shaping the future.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh went on to explain that the idea of establishing TAG-Polytechnic dates back to 1995, when he was elected by the United Nations as Chair of the UN Committee of Experts on Professional Qualifications and Standards. Since then, he has relentlessly worked to develop an educational model that meets aspirations of all people and advances the objectives promoted by the United Nations in the field of education.

Furthermore, he noted that the TAG-Polytechnic is neither a substitute for nor a competitor to traditional academic education; rather, it is a parallel educational platform designed to bridge the gap between academic outcomes and labor market requirements by focusing on practical and technical skills alongside theoretical knowledge.


Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the “Knowledge Era” necessitates a shift from traditional education; which relies on rote memorization and examinations, toward a digital learning system that fosters creativity and innovation. This, he said, is the core mission the TAG-Polytechnic aims to achieve.

Moreover, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the world is currently experiencing a massive “knowledge revolution”, noting that the failure of educational institutions to keep pace with this revolution is one of the major reasons of unemployment.

Therefore, TAG-Polytechnic was established to equip graduates with the scientific and practical skills necessary to compete in the labor market and enter the world of knowledge with the highest levels of qualification and training.

In the same context, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated that TAG-Polytechnic project was launched from the Arab world in recognition of the region's historical heritage, stating that the world’s first university was the University of Al-Qarawiyyin. He also emphasized that TAG-Polytechnic is dedicated to all humanity, coinciding with World Humanitarian Day, marked on August 19.


Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh further noted that the TAG-Polytechnic would make knowledge accessible to individuals worldwide at the highest levels of quality and efficiency, regardless of their location, while eliminating the burden and cost of traveling to obtain high-quality education.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh announced that, even prior to its official launch, the TAG-Polytechnic already consist of six colleges offering 240 specialized programs in the knowledge economy. The number of enrolled students had reached 250, while 52 students had graduated prior to the project's official launch.
He added that the TAG-Polytechnic has already initiated partnerships with various universities and educational institutions with the aim of making its programs globally accessible while leveraging the academic programs offered by partner universities. He stressed that the goal is not competition, but rather qualifying students for the labor market of the knowledge era.

Furthermore, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said that the TAG-Polytechnic will provide students and participants with the vast majority of the world's digital education programs, making them accessible to anyone wishing to pursue their education, graduate, and work digitally.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh emphasized that certain realities cannot be ignored, including the fact that technology only moves forward and that knowledge is the future of wealth creation, stressing that those who possess the tools of knowledge, and most notably, Artificial Intelligence (AI), will be the ones who dominate the job market.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh concluded by stating that TAG-Polytechnic is the culmination of efforts dating back to 1995, leading to the project’s launch in its present form.
It is worth mentioning that the significance of this project lies not only in providing high-quality education, but also in its commitment to developing students’ practical skills and enabling them to apply the knowledge they acquire in ways that foster creativity.
